Volunteer Information





  • Register and volunteer for selected Signature/Partner events in January. Group registration welcome with one submission.

  • Responsible for all things logistical for Signature/Partner events, to include pre and onsite set ups; break downs; signage, deliverables, etc.

  • Assist with posting on all social media platforms, creating content; analytics reporting, virtual and physical community engagement; calendar listings; collaborating with videographer and photographer and onsite media. Pre and onsite interviews (TV, radio, digital, print, surveys, etc.)

  • Assist with Signature events planning and sub-committees; attend selected events for set up and break down. Coordinate with marketing and logistics for event needs.

  • Recommend and assist with sponsorship applications and grant writing. Generating and distributing sponsorship packets. Meet, greet and ensure sponsors are comfortable while attending signature events. Connect with sponsors after January events for critiques and send "Thank you" communications.

  • Assigned to coordinate with Marketing, Logistics and other festival needs, as assigned by Volunteer Committee coordinator(s).



I am representing The Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival, Inc. its sponsors, partners and supporters.

I will conduct all volunteer activities with high standards, and professionalism, and will not cause detriment to its reputation.

I will not consume alcoholic beverages and/or illegal substances while representing The Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival, Inc.

To participate, I am at least 15 years of age. Under 18 years of age, my parent or guardian will be required to sign a Volunteer Terms & Conditions and Waiver form on my behalf.

I understand that I am volunteering for a community event without any form of compensation.

Safety and security of all attendees of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival is of the utmost importance. I will report any suspicious activity, dangerous situations or any other out of the ordinary activities to festival staff, onsite security, safety patrol or law enforcement.

I will not engage in controversial conversations or activities. I will walk away from those types of encounters and notify a Festival Staff or on-site security.

I agree that TBBHF staff, sponsors, partners and supporters are held harmless of any injuries and/or damages incurred to my person/property or by situations, I create and/or participate in.

If I choose to no longer participate, I will notify the event committee chair and/or volunteer coordinator immediately.

I agree to volunteer for a predetermined period of time and am expected to fulfill that commitment.

As a volunteer, I must sign up for no less than 4 hour shifts depending on the needs of the event.

There will be NO inappropriate fraternizing with festival staff, sponsors, partners, performers, talent, and VIP personnel.

I will be at my designated site 30 minutes prior to my selected volunteer shift. If my plans change, I will notify the Volunteer Coordinator, by phone call, text or email at least 24 hours prior to my assigned date and time.
